Can you believe that it is already June 1st? Me, neither! Since it is almost over, I really hope you have had a really good 1st!
Did you have a busy day? I did! I was up and going by 7:40 AM, I actually slept in for an hour and a half. It's a good thing!
I made Malt-0-Meal for breakfast since that is what Hubby wanted. He has a sore mouth today from getting the dental work done yesterday. I ran Roomba again for Sadie's hair that is coming out and getting everywhere. I did 2 loads of laundry complete with drying, folding or hanging up and putting away, mostly. I called, made an appointment with the veterinarian for Sadie about her allergies for 1:40 today after seeing places on her front left foot that were bleeding! In the meantime, the folks that were putting in our shower doors in our bathroom came to finally do so! This has been in the works for over a month. They kept bringing out the wrong size glass or wrong color of hardware. But it looks good!
I reheated the leftover soup from yesterday for lunch. I only had time to eat a small amount before leaving with Sadie.
She was not happy about going to the vet...I guess we should take her some other places besides that and our daughter's house so she will get better about traveling in the car. She tried to jump and get out the door 3 times after I got her in there. She weighed 54 lbs. We saw the Lady Vet, my first time, she remembered Sadie! I told her about Sadie's allergy problem, the redness around her mouth and nose which she could see, about her sleeping so much with using the Benadryl therefore, she recommended we try Claritin. Hubby says we have tried that before. I learned that dogs tend to be allergic to Chicken in dogfood which is what we feed her. My sister, Donna had told me this same thing this pass weekend! I asked what treats she recommended to use as rewards. Canned green beans, Kibbles or pieces of dog food are good. Wow! That is amazing! I never dreamed of green beans! Sadie had to have a shot of steroids to stop the allergies at least temporarily. So we will see how it goes.
I made some Creamy Tomato Soup and vanilla pudding tonight. We walked for a little bit so I did make it 4 days walking in row! Yea for me and Sadie!
Today's Scripture: Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. Jeremiah 17:7 KJV
Have great weekend!
This blog is about my journey, reflections, experiences and how I am learning to be better, kinder and loving to everyone I meet. I don't have all the answers, therefore I am still learning.

The Last day of May, 2018
It's been a busy week and boy has it went by fast! Weeks that start with a holiday like this on did with Memorial Day always mess me up. Do they for anyone else? I keep thinking that Tuesday is Monday and Wednesday is Tuesday! And before I knew it, Thursday was here!
Well, today Gary, my hubby had 2 teeth removed and some more stuff done to his mouth. It took the periodontist about 2.5 hours to get it done. I went along to drive us home afterwards. It went well. After they took him back I left to go pickup some shoes at the Shoe/Boot Repair Shop down the street then I went to have my blood drawn for the INR results to see how thin my blood is at the DLO lab. It was across the street. I was supposed to get something to eat but I decided to wait because if hubby could go since last night without eating then I could last just a little while longer. Besides there wasn't much available unless you wanted to drive more than a half mile away. How do I know that, you ask. Because I drove around a little bit!
I made my Broccoli Cheese Soup after returning home. Here's the recipe:

I made my Broccoli Cheese Soup after returning home. Here's the recipe:
Broccoli Cheese Soup
3 C. fresh broccoli, chopped into bite size pieces
1/2 C. each of carrots, celery and onion, chopped
1/4 C. butter
1/4 C. flour
1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
4 C. milk
2 Cans Chicken broth
1 pound American cheese, sliced or grated
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 C. each of carrots, celery and onion, chopped
1/4 C. butter
1/4 C. flour
1 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
4 C. milk
2 Cans Chicken broth
1 pound American cheese, sliced or grated
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Saute veggies in butter until they are tender. Stir in flour and cornstarch. Add chicken broth and milk and stir until blended. Add baking soda with cheese and stir until cheese melts. Simmer about 30 minutes, but don't overcook. Makes about 7 to 8 servings.
Back to my list of things I did today. I served us a small amount of ice cream at my hubby's request when we arrived home. I called and talked to Debbie C., my friend for over an hour. She's such a sweet friend for putting up with me. I made the soup...hubby wasn't ready to eat it yet. He took a Tylenol w/Codeine for the pain and it made him sleep like a baby. I ate mine, though 2.5 servings. I did the dishes and mostly cleaned up the kitchen! I'm getting pretty good at this keeping everything thing done way of life! This morning I did 1 load of laundry and now I must put them in the dryer! I ran the Roomba because Sadie is shedding her fur everywhere! I gave her a bath last night at 10:30ish that was the latest she had ever had a bath!
I took her for a walk around the neighborhood! She was barking and I was provoke to throw my shoes at her to get her to stop barking! It worked! She shut up until we were out the door! I did not hit her with them, I promise! She was so anxious to get out the door!
Good News: I've taken her for a walk for 3 nights in a row! Wonder if we will make it 4?
Last thing I did was make a quick run to Braums for Gary a malt and me one, too!
Today's scripture: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Proverbs 9:10
Good night!

Good Morning!
It's Saturday here at the Phillips household. Our plans are to have breakfast, already had 1 cup of coffee, maybe a bagel with some cream cheese. Pineapple juice on the side!
Gary and I have discussed what we need to do today. I want us to clean and polish the woodwork. Gary wants to fill in some mortar in between the bricks on the front porch.
We are preparing our house to be sold, we've found a house closer to our daughter and her kiddos. More about that later!
Well, breakfast is done! It was good! Quick and easy! I had roasted some walnuts a couple of days ago so I sprinkled some of them on top of the cream cheese! Yummy! I got a little bit of protein in, too! Not just carbs.
I guess I will cut this short today but not before sharing a thought. When you find out you have hurt someone feelings so much that they are avoiding being around you. Even if they don't tell you this, but your heart tells you. Reach out to them and sincerely apologize. A friendship is too precious a thing to lose.
Today's Scripture: "For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things." I John 3:20
Until next time! Have a great day!

I AM Back!
I Am Back...
Yes, I have decided to start posting on my blog again after almost 7 years! So much has happened, I have stopped selling Stampin' UP! I really couldn't keep on doing it because I was spending too much money for the products even though I loved making cards...it's an expensive hobby. Unfortunately, I wasn't interested in the recruiting part and that is the best was to make money in direct sales.
So what was I doing in the meantime? I started my Oklahoma State Licensed Home Childcare by going through the licensing process. I had to have my background checked, first for a friend whom I subbed for in her home childcare. Later on I had to be fingerprinted! You know, like I was under arrest! As did my husband, my daughter, my substitutes, etc. (insert eyes-roll)
The list of things I was required to do entailed: Contact DHS to inquire about all the steps involved in doing this. Give them my personal and vital information. It was a slow process but I had to get our home ready to accept children into the childcare. You know, all the electrical outlets had to be covered. Get CPR and First Aid training. Get a fire extinguisher! Get a Carbon Monoxide Tester! Smoke alarms in every room! Supplies to buy! The list goes on and on...
...but I loved kiddos and I knew I wanted to do this more than working in a doctor's office, or in a store or in a donut shop, or at substituting for teachers or assisting at a church office or even being a school teacher as I had been accredited to do several years ago. I loved reading stories to them, playing games with them, holding them as I rocked them to sleep. I loved to watch them eat their food, oh my goodness, they could be so messy! I loved to let them play in the sandbox, swing or slide on the swing set. I loved to hear their laughter and giggles.
Did I tell you that I had done this (opened my own Childcare) way back after I'd had my daughter who is grown now with children of her own? Yes, way back when she was about 6 months old. It was so long ago that I don't think the state of Oklahoma was requiring folks to be licensed then, hee-hee! That story is for another day.
I should say that I might be changing the name of my Blog soon. But, we will see! I'm learning that Blogspot isn't set up quite the same as before when I used it. I'm not sure how to do all the things it says to do.
